What You'll Find on This Page
Eagle Template
Eagles are a great topic for patriotic holidays such as 4th July but they’re also a great choice if you’re learning about or exploring the great outdoors, they’re such magnificent creatures!
This printable eagle template has two different designs to choose from, both of which are available in the PDF file.
The first of these is a more basic outline of the eagle’s head, eye and beak while the second has a little bit more detail to it.
You can print as many of each design as you like so they’re perfect for use in classrooms or preschools as well as for using at home.
Eagle Craft Ideas
Coloring
We love coloring as it’s great as a quiet time activity while being something that kids of all ages really do enjoy doing, plus it’s so easy and quick to set up!
To use this as an eagle coloring page all you need to do is print out the template that you prefer and grab your markers, coloring pencils or crayons.
Mosaic
Mosaic’s are a really good way to use different materials with kids to create art with them and they can be a great way to use up any spare craft supplies that you have at home or in your classroom too.
All you need to do if cover your eagle with glue and then choose materials to stick on it to decorate the picture. Some supplies you might like to look out for are construction paper, feathers, corrugated cardboard, leaves, twigs and tissue paper.
Handprint Eagle
I think this template would be great for using in a classroom to make a handprint eagle to display on your bulletin board.
Print out the eagle’s head shape and color this in and cut it out.
Next use brown paint for the children to make handprints with onto white printer paper, cardstock or construction paper and then cut these out when they are dry then arrange them to make the shape of the eagle’s body.
Pom Pom Painting
We love painting with pom poms for a simple way to paint without using a paintbrush that allows you to create a really nice texture on your craft.
Simply pour some paint onto a plate or tray so that it’s easy to access and then holding a pom pom with your fingers and thumb dip it into the paint before dabbing it onto your eagle picture to color it in.
If your your child doesn’t like the feel of paint on their fingers or hands you can use a clothes peg to hold the pom pom to give them a bit more room.
Patriotic Crafts for Kids
We share loads of free printables for kids crafts but we also have lots of craft ideas that we love to share too.
I love this simple paper plate flag craft as it’s made using materials that you probably already own and is easy enough for younger kids to create too.
This handprint flag craft is easy to create and makes a great keepsake too.
