This cute craft combines two of my favourite things to share at the moment – paper bag crafts and sea crafts for kids! What’s more this cute paper bag jellyfish is super sweet and super easy to make – oh – and did I mention that you could also use it as a puppet? And that it’s made from recyclables? Cheap, easy and cute, this jellyfish craft for kids is a winner!

Materials for your paper bag jellyfish:
Paper bag – I use the paper bags from Morrisons bakery which is ummm…pretty popular in this house but you can also buy some here if you want to do this activity with a group
Black pen
Black card
White card
Scissors
Selotape
Glue
How to make your paper bag jellyfish
First cut a wobbly line at the bottom of your paper bag – you could leave it at it.’s full length but I think this makes it look much better.
Turn your paper bag onto the back and then take about 10 strands of your shredded paper and attach this to the back using selotape. If you want to use your paper bag jellyfish as a puppet then it’s best to attach the shredded paper to the inside so that it will be in front of your hand rather than behind it. I found that to attach the shredded paper it was best to fold it in half and twist the folded bit slightly before sticking it down. I’ve used washi tape here because that’s all we had in the house (my kids are obsessed with it) but normal sellotape would work just as well. I would use sellotape where possible for this rather than glue as it means you don’t have to wait for it to dry.
Once you’ve stuck on your shredded paper turn your paper bag jellyfish over and make its face. For the eyes you could glue on googley eyes but as we’d run out I cut out some big eyes from black and white card. For the mouth just draw on a little smile!
