Surprise Egg Chicks

1st April 2015 by Kate Williams | 6 Comments

Are your kids obsessed with Surprise Eggs? My son is. Given half a chance he would spend all day watching surprise egg videos on YouTube and would make them the main part of his diet. Thankfully his mother won’t quite allow that yet! With Easter just around the corner I thought it would be fun to make something with them, these Surprise Egg Chicks would be great for hiding clues to an Easter Egg Hunt in or perhaps hiding a few mini-eggs or jelly beans?

Orange Card

Googly Eyes

How to make your Surprise Egg Chicks

Fold a piece of orange card in half and cut in a triangle shape to make the beak. Cut out two wing shapes and some feet making sure you leave plenty of room on these to put your surprise egg on top.

Using superglue glue the beak, eyes and wings on to the top part of your surprise egg. Glue the feet under the bottom of the egg. I know I don’t need to tell you but hey, superglue really is super sticky so make these for the kids, don’t let your kids near the superglue as good things will not come from that.

Want to see these being made? Check out the video on my Facebook page and give it a like while you’re there!

What to do with your Easter Surprise Egg

Pop some sweets in it, hide some mini eggs in it and hide them in the woods for a Easter Egg hunt, pop some crayons or play dough in them to keep the kids busy during Easter lunch round the in-laws… what would your kids like?
