  • Kids Glue
  • Scissors

Materials

  • 1 Paper Plate
  • Coloured Tissue Paper

Instructions

  • Cut heart shapes out of your coloured tissue paper. Older children will be able to do this themselves while you are likely to need to do this for younger children.

  • Cover the paper plate in glue, I've used PVA glue for this but a glue stick would probably work as well and has the benefit of drying quicker.
  • Stick your coloured heart shapes onto your paper plate.
  • Cut a tree trunk shape from brown card and stick this on at the base of the tree.

Notes

Instead of cutting out a tree trunk shape you could personalise this craft by drawing round your childs hand and part of their arm onto brown card, cutting it out and using this shape for the tree trunk, this would make a nice keepsake too.
I've used 'Valentines colours' of pinks, reds and purples for this craft but go with the colours your child loves the most, both of my kids would probably add lots of blues and yellow tissue paper as well.
If you're using PVA glue then a glue spreader can be helpful for kids to spread their glue across the paper plate.
