Fish Fathers Day Card Kids Can Make

An easy handmade Fathers Day card that toddlers and preschoolers can make or can be adapted for older kids.

Equipment

  • Black marker
  • Scissors
  • Colored Paint
  • Plate
  • Glue

Materials

  • White cardstock
  • Colored cardstock
  • Googly eyes / white scrap paper

Instructions

  • Drawing a fish shape onto colored card stock.

  • Cut out your fish shape using scissors.
  • Pour some paint onto a plate and dip your finger into it so that you can color in your fish using finger painting.

  • Make some eyes for your fish either with googly eyes, a black marker pen or cutting white circles from scrap paper and drawing a black dot onto them .
  • On your white card write ‘Dad, you’re fin-tastic’ and glue on your fish underneath.

Notes

I've used finger painting in this card to make it easy for toddlers and preschoolers to decorate but it’s something that you could really easily change depending what craft supplies you have and what your kids are into. You could do normal painting, drawing, collage or make some scales out of coloured paper.
You could also use blue card instead of white for the background if you would like to make it look more like the fish is in the sea. Go for a pale blue though to make sure you can still see the writing.
