Encouraging Your Child’s Creativity With Personalised Notebooks

Ad. My kids love drawing, in fact I’d say it’s probably my number one way to keep them entertained and happy (and not arguing!) so when Snapfish asked if I’d like to work with them to showcase their personalised notebooks I jumped at the chance as I knew it would be something my kids would adore and if you think your kids would love it too I’ve got a brilliant discount code for you today!

We keep quite a few of the kids drawings but to be honest we also throw a lot out. As in don’t tell the kids how many large amounts. We’ve got a few in frames but to be honest the large amount of bits of paper that end up flapping about the house just becomes a bit overbearing after a while -I’m not a clean freak but clutter isn’t good for anyone. I love the kids having notebooks because it means that they can do all their drawings in one place which as well as keeping our home less cluttered also means that when they need to find that incredibly important picture they did last week they know exactly where it will be, everyone’s happier.

My kids love looking through their pictures so I knew that personalised notebooks would appeal to them. To make their drawing books I used Snapfish’s designs for kids using the spiral notebooks. You can add your child’s name to their notebook and another fun option is to add their photo. For my son I went for the cactus design while I knew my emoji loving daughter would want the emoji version. I’m not great at anything too technical on computers but it was really easy to upload images from my laptop and you can import photos from Facebook and Instagram too.

Over the last couple of years we’ve really tried to give the kids a bit of a sense of adventure whether it’s a post-school trip camping or travelling abroad. Earlier this year we camped for two weeks travelling across France and a notebook and colouring pencils were one of the best things we took – they loved drawing during chill out time, making pictures of their adventures and writing the odd word of french in them so I knew that travel themed notebooks would be a great way to encourage some creativity on the road too. For their travel notebooks I used Snapfish’s basic layouts for their personalised softcover notebooks and then added lots and lots of embellishments for each of them – there’s some brilliant phrases as well as pictures with ‘ready to explore’ and ‘to live is to travel’ as well as cute images of globes, camper vans and of course the all essential ice creams (well they’re essential to us anyway!) These notebooks would make such gorgeous birthday or Christmas presents for kids, something that will actually last for a while and help encourage their creativity.

Since the notebooks arrived both kids have been doing loads of drawing in them and I love that they really have kept one for drawing in at home and one for holiday drawing!

Oh and did I mention I got one for myself? Ahem… Well us mama’s need to be creative too and I couldn’t resist this softcover notebook with one of the monogram designs – so pretty!

Okay, these are a really nice idea. I think I will order one of these for my daughter for Xmas, as, like yours, we do end up with a lot of drawings all over the house. I do create a file for each year, but as her drawing becomes more and more prolific I think something like this is a good idea.

My kids would love these too. They are always writing stories or doodling on something!
