I love to sew but I’m always a bit scared about giving handmade gifts. What if my friends or family don’t think they’re up to scratch? Thankfully I have two people in my life that have always loved the things that I’ve made for them and that’s my kids.
As a mum I also get a lot of pleasure in seeing my kids play with or wear stuff I’ve made for them and with that in mind I asked some of my fellow bloggers to share gifts to sew for kids that they’ve made and that have received a lot of love back! I hope it will inspire you to sew something as a present too!
A pillow your kids can colour in? Hello!! I Love this from Fab Kids (website sadly no longer working, but you can get the gist from the above photo. I’d use a rub-a-dub Sharpie pen if you want a picture to stay on a pillowcase.)

Some great ideas! I’ve made knitted dolls for nieces and nephews, been sewing play capes, made doll ring-slings and even hand embroidered and made a cottage with the three bears and goldilocks inside (that took forever!). I love making gifts for the children in my life, and so far, while they are still little, they are appreciated. Hopefully my skills will grow as the children do, so that my efforts will still be appreciated as they get older.
