Yesterday I shared the cute paper plate badger that I made this week with my daughter and today it’s the turn for this sweet paper plate fox! Both my children made these paper plate crafts but my son decided to use his for a bit of scissor practice before I managed to get the camera out. Never mind, one of the nice things about paper plate crafts is that they are so cheap to do and with a craft this cute I don’t mind doing it again next week!
Paper Plate Badger
Today has been yet another rainy kind of day so I thought it would be a good idea to drag the kids away from the tv and do a bit of crafting. I love paper plate crafts as they’re so cheap and easy to do – you can normally get a pack of paper plates for a pound meaning that it doesn’t matter if things don’t go exactly to plan. We’ve been taking a lot of walks in the wood recently watching the season start to change so I thought it would be fun to make some woodland animals, this here is our paper plate badger and you can also check out our paper plate fox!
How to cope when your baby has reflux
Has your child got reflux? Then mama, you have my sympathy. My daughters reflux is one of the hardest things I’ve had to deal with as a parent. If you haven’t dealt with reflux that can sound daft, it’s just a bit of vomit, right? But if your baby has reflux you’ll know the seemingly never ending sleepless nights, how it feels to see your child being ill again and again and of course you’ll also have the added joy of being out in public in clothes splattered in sick. Yep, I’ve been there. For a long period of time I was only getting four hours of sleep a night and to be honest I kind of lost the plot a bit. Actually I lost it quite a lot, there’s a reason why sleep deprivation is used as a method of torture. As my eldest child was never sick as a baby (true fact, we never even used a muslin with him) I had no idea what reflux was or how we could help our daughter so I’ve put this together as a little guide for parents who are going through it at the moment. Obviously I am not a doctor so do speak to your GP, consultant or paediatrician but hopefully this will help some parents that are looking for some advice on reflux from a mum who’s been there.
Scissor Skills Snakes
So it would appear that on Kate’s Big List Of Parenting Things I Forgot To Do is teach scissor skills to my son. I know this to be true because this week I realised that we don’t seem to own any kids scissors, oops. Thankfully I know that scissor skills are something that he’s been doing at his playgroup anyway but what’s wrong with supporting that at home? These cute scissor skills snakes not only helped improve his use of scissors but we loved making them too and he’s been playing with them ever since we made them!…
10 Ways to Play and Learn with Stickers
Do your kids like stickers? Mine are obsessed! I’m quite happy for them to play with them because they’re great for fine motor skills and because they’re a really quiet and calm activity too, but after a while I thought they might like something to do with them other than just stick them on a bit of paper. They’re are loads of ways that your kids can play and learn with stickers and most of them are pretty cheap ways to keep your kids busy too!
