I’m not sure if it’s true or just my opinion but I’m sure that in Cornwall the weather seems to change quicker than it did in Essex. I seem to have sent my son into school in the wrong school uniform most days, him wearing trousers and jumpers while his friends are in shorts or vice versa. With autumn arriving it’s certainly been cooler and we’ve had some really rainy days but as a family we’ve been making a concerted effort to still get out and enjoy the outdoors whenever we can.
10 Cool things to make with t-shirt yarn
I hate throwing clothes out. Apart from the fact that they’ve normally cost a bit, I don’t like to see something nice end up in a rubbish bag, it feels like such a waste. Of course you can donate them to charity, but if you’d like them to have a second life with you first then turning them into t-shirt yarn and creating something new is the perfect way to do it! I know that I’m not always as full of ideas as I am as full of good intentions so today I’m sharing 10 things to make with t-shirt yarn to inspire you as well as sharing a tutorial for how to make t-shirt yarn yourself.
Winter Tree Suncatchers
Yesterday I did a super brave thing, I got the glitter out. I know that if you write about kids crafts then somehow you are expected to automatically love glitter but this mama has spent too long cleaning the stuff up to be a big fan of it! We did find a way to keep the mess under control though and I think our winter tree suncatchers worked out really well!

Cornish Seal Sanctuary Review
This weekend we went spent a few days down on the south coast of Cornwall near Mullion, it’s a gorgeous area but one that I haven’t been to since we had kids so we thought it would be fun to go and see it again. Of course going somewhere in summer without kids is…ummm…slightly different to visiting somewhere late October with two small people in tow but that was fine as it gave us the excuse to go and visit places other than the beach. One of these was The Cornish Seal Sanctuary which is in Gweek, despite having had a look at their website I kind of presumed it would be a bit like the aquarium where we used to live in Southend – small, indoors but with slightly bigger tanks and of course like most things I presume I was totally wrong in this case, but thank not in a bad way.
