What We Wore: Tensing Women’s Walking Boots Review

We’ve never had loads of babysitting but when we moved down to Cornwall last year it became an impossibility- we live about 300 miles from everyone we know so the chances of nipping out for a quick pint became an impossibility. What did happen though was that our daughter stated doing a day at nursery a week which meant that once we’d done some work we had afternoons suddenly free for, well, actually being adults. Imagine! A couple of hours followed by the school run means that dinner, drinks, cinema and pretty much our traditional date stuff wasn’t going to happen so instead we thought we’d try and make the most of where we live, walk a bit more, maybe try out surfing too. So when Trespass asked me if I’d like to try out their Tensing Women’s Walking Boots I of course agreed.

One of the main differences I’ve noticed about moving from Essex to Cornwall is the total lack of interest in what shoes, bag or car you have here. It doesn’t matter how old your car is, it matters if you can fit a surfboard in it, likewise when I lived in Essex I never really saw people walking around in walking shoes but down here it’s much more common to see them on the school run or on people sat in cafes, the coastal path is really popular with people and there’s an awful lot of hills and fields around here and thankfully the walking boots from Trespass look really good too.

I’m normally someone who lives in converse or birkenstocks but neither of them are great for walking in. By comparison the Tensing women’s walking boots felt quite tight when I first put them on, but that’s because they have an awful lot more support in them than a pair of sandals, with the support around your ankles making them much better for walking in. After a couple of wears I started to get used to them and they started to feel a lot more comfortable and I’ve enjoyed wearing them out and about

Of course an added bonus of the sun finally coming out is that after a walk with my husband – or even sometimes the kids – we’re able to stop and have a rest outside at a cafe. It might not be the dates we used to have but these days they feel much better to me.

Disclosure – I was sent the Tensing Women’s Walking Boots to review, all opinions remain my own.

Sounds like with your lovely landscape you will get a lot of use from these walking shoes! As long as they are comfy and keep your feet and ankles protected from rugged terrain they will be perfect!
